BBQ Jackfruit Ribs Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 tins Nature’s Charm Bar-B-Que Jackfruit
- 250g closed cup mushrooms bay leaf
- 150g vital wheat gluten
- 3 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1 tsp mustard powder
- 1 tbsp sweet smoked paprika
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp liquid smoke
- 1 tbsp garlic paste
- 100ml water
- salt + pepper to taste
- at least 250ml lashings of good quality BBQ sauce
Instructions
- Separate the jackfruit with two forks and warm through on a low heat.
- Chop the mushrooms into tiny pieces, cover with water with a pinch of salt, bay leaf and simmer down for as long as it takes for the water to disappear.
- Leave the mushrooms and jackfruit cool, then add them into a bowl with all the other ingredients. Once mixed, lay out some baking paper and put down a layer of BBQ Sauce, then tip out your rib mixture and form into shape.
- Optional: Push in the rib ‘bones” shaped with parsnip or your vegetable of choice.
- Spread on a layer of BBQ Sauce and bake for 25 minutes and brush on another layer. Bake for another 25 minutes. Enjoy!
