Caramel Pears with Oat Cream Recipe
Ingredients
- For the Caramel:
- 200g soft brown sugar
- 1 cans Nature’s Charm Oat Whipping cream, room temperature
- 1 can Nature’s Charm Sweetened Condensed Oat Milk
- 60g vegan butter, melted
- For the Pears:
- 3 - 4 large firm but ripe pears
- 2 tbsp soft brown sugar
- 3 tbsp vegan butter, melted
- ½ - 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 can Nature’s Charm Oat Whipping Cream, chilled overnight
- 80g roast hazelnuts, chopped
Instructions
- Add the sugar, Nature’s Charm oat whipping cream, sweetened condensed oat milk and melted vegan butter to a pot.
- Place over a high heat on the stove, bring the boil and continue to stir and cook until it reaches 120C. It’s important you bring it temperature or it won’t set when chilled.
- Caramel can be prepared in advance and stored in the fridge (for up to one week). Reheat as much as you like in a pot before serving.
- Slice the pears in half. Scoop out the core using a teaspoon.
- Mix together the sugar, vegan butter and cinnamon in an oven / air fryer safe dish. Place the pears into the dish cut side down.
- If you have an air fryer with a basket shaped base you can line it with baking paper, coat the pears in the brown sugar mixture, and once the pears are coated place them inside.
- Brush them with a little more of the mixture half way through cooking.
- Cook pears at 200C in the air fryer for 12 - 18 minutes; they will take approximately 30 minutes in the oven. The times will vary depending on the ripeness of your pears.
- Place the chilled oat cream into a large bowl, use everything water included, it will whip up. Whisk to soft peaks using electric beater.
- Serve pears with caramel, oat cream and toasted chopped hazelnuts.
