Halloween Chocolate Custard Pies Recipe
By nm_meiyeeIngredients
- For the filling:
- 250g of our Nature’s Charm Coconut Custard
- 100g dark chocolate, melted
- For the pie crust:
- 165g all-purpose flour
- 10g cocoa powder
- 15g sugar
- 90g butter, cold and diced
- 45–50g iced water
- pinch of salt
Instructions
- Add our Nature’s Charm Coconut Custard and melted dark chocolate to a small bowl. Mix until smooth, then set aside.
- Add the flour, cocoa powder, sugar and salt to a food processor and pulse a few times to combine.
- Add the cold diced butter and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs, with a few pea-sized pieces of butter remaining.
- Add the iced water and pulse just until moist clumps or small balls of dough begin to form. Wrap the dough and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Roll out the chilled dough. Cut some into strips and create a lattice, then use a cookie cutter to cut out your pie tops. Freeze for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and bake the lattice pie tops for 16–18 minutes.
- Roll out the remaining dough and cut out the pie bases. Carefully place them over a muffin tin to create the pie shells. Bake at 180°C for 16–18 minutes, then allow to cool completely.
- Fill each pie shell with the chocolate coconut custard, top with the lattice pieces and enjoy!
